Sandy Y. Guevara, is a CPA and Tax Manager at Armanino, an accounting firm that provides assurance/audit, tax, consulting, risk and advisory and business management services. She's a first-generation college graduate, oldest of three children and only daughter, and was born and raised in Mexico before her family moved to the U.S. in 2005 when she was 12 years old. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting & Data Analytics from St. Mary's University in 2016. She's currently pursuing her Master of Jurisprudence at St. Mary's School of Law. She has also participated in the Latina Leadership Institute program of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and has been a member of the Emerging Leaders Council, Women United, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council.
Sandy has been nominated for the United Way's Volunteer of the Year award, for a SAHCC Woman Award, and received the Presidential Award and Outstanding Student Award in 2015 and 2016 from St. Mary's University. She's also received numerous accolades from her previous and current firm for her hard work and dedication to people development, leadership, and outstanding service, and has received special awards from St. Mary's University VITA Program.
She’s very active in her community as her vocation is to serve others and she is a firm believer in servant leadership. Outside of the HWNT board, Sandy also participates in different community service programs such as the St. Mary's University's VITA program which focuses on serving the low-income community in San Antonio by preparing their tax returns for free. She's been a volunteer and instructor for VITA for 12 years and that's how she found her passion. She is also an advocate for for animals and has been a vegan for over six years.
Sandy has been married to her husband Agustin for over a year and has been in a relationship with him for over seven years and she truly values and admires her husband's support and kindness. In her spare time, she loves to watch soccer games, read, write, and listen to music as well as spend time with her many beloved pets and her family.
