Brianna Dimas is the Director of Strategic Communications for the American Immigration Council in Washington D.C., as the organization recently merged with New American Economy.
A graduate of the New York University Arthur L. Carter School of Journalism, Brianna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Religious Studies. Her passions include storytelling, mission advancement, small business, education, equity, public policy, and leadership development.
Brianna is the former Vice President of Programs and Communications for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) in Washington D.C. where she led communications and brand management and public/media relations for the USHCC and managed several programs for the USHCC Educational Fund including the Avanzar small business accelerator program, now in seven states. Prior to joining the USHCC, Brianna served as the Chief Operations Officer for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC), America’s 1st Hispanic Chamber and the only 5-Star Accredited Hispanic Chamber in the country. In that role, Brianna managed daily operations for the organization including a team of 16 employees who represented more than 1,100 businesses throughout San Antonio and Texas. She served at the SAHCC for nine years.
Before that, Brianna worked for Newsweek Magazine, The Daily Beast, the Women in the World Foundation, Scholastic Classroom Magazines, the San Antonio Express News, La Prensa de San Antonio, Edible San Antonio Magazine, and the America Reads America Counts Program. Brianna also volunteers with several boards/commissions including the Texas Public Radio Generation Listen Board of Directors, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Advisory Board of Directors, the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists (SAAHJ), the Hispanic Womens Network of Texas, and the Latinas Represent National Advisory Group.
She was honored by the San Antonio Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 recipient in 2018. She also awarded as one of the 2019 Coors Light Líderes – a national award. A native of San Antonio, Brianna is a first-generation college graduate and a proud Hispanic Scholarship Fund recipient.
